  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (optional, for extra flavor)
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) sour cream or Greek yogurt
  • 1/2 cup (90g) chocolate chips or chopped nuts (optional)

For the Brown Butter Frosting:

  • 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter
  • 2 cups (240g) powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Batter

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line an 8×8-inch (or 9×9-inch) baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, mix mashed bananas, melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until well combined.
  3. Beat in eggs and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
  5. Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  6. Fold in sour cream (or Greek yogurt) and mix until smooth.
